Remote Settlements

The final transaction at which the funds are exchanged and ownership is transferred is known as the settlement (sometimes referred to as the closing). As technology has advanced and the global pandemic forced us to evaluate the way we handle business, Allied Title & Escrow has discovered that holding virtual settlements is highly beneficial to our clients. This is why we have made them a part of our everyday business.

The Convenience of Remote Settlements

Remote settlements offer you a lot of added convenience. With in-person closings, you have a set date, time, and location for the settlement to occur. For those who struggle with children’s schedules,  transportation issues, and other responsibilities, getting to this meeting can be a challenge.

With a remote settlement, you can close from the convenience of your home or office without ever stepping foot in ours.

We can send a title agent to you at a time that works for you. Or, we can schedule an online/virtual closing to minimize contact and maximize the convenience factor.

Allied Title & Escrow handles closings for both residential and commercial buyers who are seeking a smooth, seamless real estate transaction. Sometimes this closing takes place in a convenient physical location, whether ours or yours. Other times, virtual settlements just seem to fit everyone’s schedule.

REMOTE ONLINE NOTARIZATIONS

Virtual Online Closings also known as RON (Remote Online Notarization) quickly expanded in popularity because of the onset of Covid-19. Allied Title & Escrow offers all of our sellers and our cash buyers to close 100% online throughout our partnership with Proof.com.

The majority of lenders haven't approved RON closings yet but we expect them to jump on board in the near future. When that happens, buyers who are utilizing a mortgage will be able to close through Proof too!

Considering a Remote Settlement?

There are several different ways a remote settlement can take place. Your title agent will be able to give you the necessary details on how to most conveniently handle your closing based on the laws where the transaction is taking place.

For online settlements, you will meet with a closing agent virtually. Once you have proven your identity, the agent will go over all the closing documents and, if possible, you will electronically sign them.

In some instances, you may have to have a mobile notary come to you for doc signing or you may have the title agent meet you at a convenient location to handle the paperwork.

Any payments that are being exchanged will be done so electronically.

When it comes to remote settlements,  you have options that will make the entire process very easy.
